using essential oils..

There are many ways you can use essential oils. These include breathing, soaking, feeding your bodies skin and sensually smooth them all over.

Inhalation

Inhalation is a very good method for problems such as colds, but should not be used by people who suffer from asthma.

Therapeutic Massage

This treatment involves using lymphatic massage and essential oils to improve the flow of blood and lymph fluids. The aromas will also improve the way we feel as it works on the limbie system in the brain, which is our centre of emotion.

Fragrancers

These are also known as oil burners, diffusers or vaporizers (vaporisers/vapourisers). The top part of the object is filled with water, and then drops of essential oils are added to this. A candle in the pot is then burned, which slowly heats the water and gives off the essence from the oil.

Baths

Run a hot bath and add 5-10 drops of essential oil to suit your mood. Make sure your windows and doors are closed so no essence can escape and soak for 15 minutes. For sensitive skin, it is advised to mix the oils with a base oil such as apricot before adding to the bath

Sauna

A sauna is also a good place to use essential oils. Simply add the oil to a pint of water and throw it over the coals in the sauna. This is a good technique for detoxification.

Scented Candles

Wax candles can be purchased ready made with essential oils based in them. These are a good way for fragrancing a room.

Pot Pourri

Add a few drops of appropriate essential oil to a pot full of pot pourri.
